"BLUE CHIP" was established as a home-based food distribution business in 1972 when Phil Augason's ability and love of the food industry inspired him to develop a nutritious, economical whey based milk alternative which he named "Morning Moo's".  This was the beginning of many enjoyable years in the family business.  Phil's wife, Jacquie, and their 5 children still talk about the nights and weekends they spent helping Dad prepare for shows and fairs throughout the Intermountain West promoting Morning Moo's TM.

Blue Chip started growing by merging a  punch company, Kool-Kids Company.,  Trophic International, Inc., a lecithin company,  a bakemix line, The Blue Chip Baker, and it's main product, Morning Moo's. Profits were still small, so Blue Chip incorporated becoming Blue Chip Group Inc.  By then Phil was distributing his products to Arizona, Idaho and California. Fifteen years later, "Blue Chip" was distributing a large variety of products to many customers throughout the United States and 25 years later to Great Britain, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Africa, etc...

Blue Chip Group, Inc. has now grown into a thriving enterprise with 15-20 employees.   It is able to offer its customers a full range of products including bakery mixes, gluten, dough conditioners, fruit drinks, tofu drinks, and soup mixes. "Blue Chip Group" is currently distributing flour, sugars, grains, wheat, and other items, through it's own trucking company called, Elite Trucking LLC.

"Blue Chip" started from nothing but a dream, and a commitment to excellence. It has been built on producing quality products, on a timely basis, at a market-driven price. "Blue Chip" can take a customers' existing formula and reproduce it or do custom formulation, blending and packaging. (see custom blending)

Phil believes that it is important to keep on top of changes in the market place while maintaining the high quality of the products customers love. (see customer comments) "Blue Chip" takes the time to get it right in all our custom blending and packaging services.  This has only been possible with the addition of three key ingredients - quality suppliers, great customers, and great employees.  Today we still have the "hands-on" expertise of some of our original employees, and to the expertise, we have added some key personnel with this industry experience and knowledge, plus a great production team.
